POlicies 2022

Please read all available information to understand how I run my company and to ensure respect on all sides. My boundaries are important to me, and these policies are necessary to protect my integrity, my business and my mental health to ensure that I am able to continue to run my business honourably and effectively.

 
  • I love my work and every one of my customers and the beautiful things that we get to create together, but these healthy boundaries are put in place to make sure that everyone involved is treated with respect and professionalism.

    My business hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 9 am to 4 pm. Any times outside of these hours are my weekend, which I spend on my family and self-care. Please do not expect a response during my time away from my business and be respectful when messaging or emailing me at these times. I work from home and your energy gets brought directly into my home when you message me. My mental health is the most important thing to me, so please be aware of this and act accordingly.

    Orders made on Friday evenings to Monday evenings will be processed on Tuesdays.

    Shipping days are generally Tuesday and Friday.

    Emails received will be answered within 3-5 of my business days, Tuesday to Friday.

    All orders will be processed in 3-6 business days due to me being a one woman show.

  • I love getting requests for custom work, seeing people sharing their projects using my patterns and materials, and sharing within your community.

    I am one person, and I often am unable to respond to every message promptly, and I do not want anyone to take offense to this, but sometimes I just cannot get to every message when I receive 20 a day on average.

    I have a very easy and professional way to connect with me via email through my website form and at info@indigenousnouveau.com. This is my preferred way of contact, though I know people will always try to connect over Facebook and Instagram.

    If you message me on Instagram or messenger, I have received your message whether it has been “seen” or not. Unfortunately with the volume of messages I get, expect an answer within 5-10 business days.

    I am human, and with everyone, sometimes emails slip through the cracks, get marked incorrectly and end up in spam. Please respect that I do the best that I am able to but mistakes do happen.

    I respectfully want to let everyone know that I am not Amazon or a large corporation. I am one female artist running an entire grassroots community company, teaching, manufacturing and doing all of my own administration. Please remember this when you email me, leave reviews or post online.

  • When ordering from my store, please read all of the descriptions, instructions and details thoroughly to avoid any miscommunications. This is your responsibility as a customer.

    Custom orders are currently closed.

    All clothing and fabric is print to order and can take up to 21 business days to arrive. (This does not include weekends.) Most orders arrive within 14 days but please be advised that I have no control over Canada post shipping or manufacturing issues, though I absolutely will do my best to expedite and fix any issues that may arise. My first concern is that my customers receive the products they order and in a timely fashion, but I do ask for patience and understanding when dealing with any problems.

    All of the products that ship from my home will be shipped on either the Wednesday or Friday following your order, dependent on when I can drive to the post office. (ie: kits, beadwork, aprons and cards, prints, paper products, and handmade clothing).

    All PDF Classes are automatic downloads and are not full kits, though they do include a list on how to locate and order each component. If you are interested in full kits, please refer to my Instagram as to when I will have them available.

  • If you as and individual or organization wish to create a wholesale account with me, larger orders are done by order form and can be provided upon request. Please follow the link here to access my current wholesale discount pricing. Retroactive discounts are unfortunately unavailable, as are retroactive tax exemptions.

  • Fabric and many of the clothing items are all print to order and take several weeks to both process, print and ship to you. Because I work with a smaller manufacturer, orders over 12 Meters can take 3-4 weeks to arrive due .o the quality checks that the factory in Montreal needs to do. Please be patient and understand that I myself do not manufacture the fabric but work with a company in Canada that produces my ethical and ecologically sound products for you. If you need updates about the status of your order, please email me and I will inquire for you about delivery times. If you are on a tight time schedule, and would like to order a large amount of any of my products, please contact me ahead of time with your projected timeline.

    Any errors in keying in your address, phone number and name are the sole responsibility of the customer and I will not be covering any costs associated with additional shipping costs or lost packages due to incorrect addresses or names. If a correction in your order is required, you may email me at info@indigenousnouveau.com within 48 hours to make a change.

    Flat shipping rates apply to all orders and all overages will be refunded to the original form of payment.

    Canada Post items within Canada are insured automatically for $100 and come with tracking. International orders, including the United States have tracking but do not include insurance. I do not guarantee the delivery of packages outside my own country if you do not insure them as the customer. If you require insurance, contact me after purchasing.

    Please read all the instructions on each item you are purchasing to ensure that you have selected the correct shipping. I am not responsible for additional shipping due to a customer not reading the instructions.

    Many items do not ship together and I will request funds to cover shipping in the event that proper selections have not been made.

    Failure to read the instructions at the top of my shop page, resulting in incorrect shipping selections may result in the cancellation of your order.

    If you do not respond to my emails in request of further information, additional shipping or address corrections within 5 business days, this may result in a cancellation of your order.

  • At this time, I will not be offering tax-exemption to small orders to reserves. Because I drop ship my print-to-order fabrics and clothing, I am the one who pays the tax on your order for you and my company simply cannot afford to take that expense on at the moment.

    If you are interested in wholesale for your reserve-based company, association, band or classes, please email me at info@indigenousnouveau.com to get details on tax-exemption.

    If you have already made your order, I apologize but I am unable to refund taxes retroactively for tax exemptions.

  • I accept returns on clothing based on sizing, but the customer is responsible for paying the shipping for the return and shipment of new products. I also accept returns on all fabric, clothing and hand-crafted items with manufacturing defects, and will refund shipping on a case-by-case basis. I want you to be happy with your product from me, but it is important to protect myself, my company and my boundaries to ensure I do the best job that I am able to.

    Without reasonable cause, I do not refund orders due to buyer’s remorse or failure to read my policies. Refunding orders from a small business costs us time, money and restocking, so please do not order from my business if you do not intend to follow through with it.

    All cancelled orders are subject to a restocking fee of $10, and will be reflected in the refund amount.
